Mieli kolegos,

Pagaliau pavyko surasti laiko ir paruosti 2007-02-06 dienos prezentacijos informacija su garsu.

Kol kas tai padaryta paprastai - kiekvienos PowerPoint'o
skaidres desiniajame kampe teks paspausti ikona jei
panoresite isgirsti skaidres komentara balsu.

Prezentacija (zip failo apimtis apie 104MB) padeta cia:

http://www.qrz.lt/ly2baw/EMEprezentacija.zip

Isarchyvavus zip faila liks 107 MB dydzio ppt failas, jis skirtas PowerPoint'ui.

Busiu dekingas uz Jusu komentarus bei konstruktyvia kritika ir uz informacija apie pastebetas klaidas ar nesklandumus.

Tik stipriai neteiskite - tai is tiesu buvo tik "pirmasis blynas"....

Tips and tricks for using the WSJT programme for JT EME

There are a few good methods of improve your EME system by optimizing your settings in the WSJT programme.
First, be sure to download the newest version here. Then try to optimize the different settings which are explained below.

Sync setting
Set the sync to -2 (this gives you better decodes when you have weak signals). There will almost never be fake decodes. But in case that you get fake decodes, you can easily see that DT or DF are wrong. You will get many decodes at sync level 0. This setting is crucial to us having less sized arrays. You will be amazed when you set that right.

Call3txt
Enter the callsign of the station you like to work. If the locator comes up in the Locator field then the callsign is in the Call3.txt file already. If not, just fill in the right locator and add it. This enables the deep search routine. This gives you 3dB more on RX. I know there are a lot of discussions about the deep search QSO's. If you empty the Call3.txt file and make sure the locator field is empty, then the Deep search decoder is not used.

Freeze
When you can "see" a signal, use the freeze function. Normally 25Hz is a good tolerance setting. This blanks other signals and prevents them to disturb your decoding.

AFC settings
The AFC is good if your QSO-partner has a drift on his frequency. If the drift is more than 5Hz per TX cycle, then check the AFC box. If less, just leave it unchecked. If the box is checked all the time you loose RX sensitivity.

Drift
Be sure your frequency is stable. About 5Hz drift per minute gives -4dB on RX and TX. This is not worth loosing.

AF response
Also be sure you TX the same level in all tones. If you run 400W in one tone and maybe 380W in the other tones, there is no problem. But if you have around -3dB in some tones you need to find the ripple problem. Also on RX the response needs to be relatively flat. You can check it using the FSK441A mode in the programme. Try monitor on a birdie free QRG and look the purple curve in the main window. It should be relatively flat from 400Hz to 2400Hz.

Birdies
If you live in a town and have birdies, check the ZAP box. This will eliminate signals that are constant on the screen. They are omitted in decoder.
